He also commended Kamala Harris' looks. "She's brilliant and she's dedicated, she's tough. ... She also happens to be, by far, the best-looking attorney general," Obama said during the Democratic National Committee luncheon in the Silicon Valley Thursday (Apr. 4).
"It's true! C'mon," he continued as the crowd laughed, the Dallas Morning News reports. Harris was present but made remarks before Obama took the podium and did not make an immediate comment.
"The attorney general is traveling and has no comment," spokeswoman Lydia Gledhill said.
Though it may have tickled a funny bone, the President's comments also stirred up some controversy. "Sexual Harris-ment?
According to the AP, Harris considers Obama a friend, and they have campaigned for each other in previous elections. Some pundits have described Harris as a "female Obama" because of her stage presence and mixed ethnicity.
