1. Fast Food Restaurant
You should never step inside a fast food restaurant on your first date. And if he expects you to, you should probably delete his number immediately.  It’s not an uppity thing; it’s a self-respect thing. Unless he flew you all the way to Paris just to eat McDonald’s, there is no justification for you to grub on a Big Mac and fries for your first date.


2. Movies
There’s really no way to get to know someone better by sitting next to them and watching them watch other people. What can you really say without being hushed to death? Besides, it’s extremely high school. After a few epic outings, sure. But as the first chance to really get a feel for one another? No way.

 
3. Club/Lounge
Although the idea of VIP at your favorite night spot may sound flattering, make sure he knows that standing in a pool of wasted club-goers isn’t cool for the first go-round. Simple: Make a quick exit.


4. His House
Serial killer, much?  You are just getting to know this man, so steer away from creepy (and hella lazy) date. You kick it with your friends at home, not with a stranger as a first date.


5. Shopping Mall
Unless he plans on taking you on a shopping spree, going to the mall isn’t a great place to spend quality time getting to know each other. Considering most men and women aren’t great shopping partners anyway, this outing will probably be the last date outing.


6. Bar
You should never go somewhere, where liquor is heavily involved (See #3). Impairment of judgement can have you making bad (real bad) first date decisions. The only thing he will probably know is what kind of drink you prefer and if you are a light weight or not.


7. Strip Club
It’s classless as a first date. Trying to get to know someone while he gets a lap dance by a stripper he’s paying is degrading on your part and disrespectful on his. Strip club dates are for those comfortable with each other not those that barely know each other.

 
8. Funeral
If someone ever asks you to attend a funeral with them and you aren’t past your first 10 dates, delete their number. Not to sound insensitive but what are the benefits of going to a funeral to pay your last respects to someone you’ve never met and to console someone you barely know. There are none.


9. Group Dates
Grow up. You don’t need approval or supervision on how a first date should go. It’s a recipe for disaster, but if you’re willing to walk the plank, don’t say we didn’t warn you about the sharks at the bottom.
