Beyoncé took a stand for marriage equality on Instagram last night (March 26).
The "Single Ladies" singer posted a picture of a remixed version of her 2008 hit. "If you like it, you should be able to put a ring on it" she wrote, adding "It's about time #equality #prop8 #marriageisl ove".
Bey ended her short, but sweet letter pledging to unite for marriage
equality. The picture caused a bit of controversy from people who
commented that Beyoncé is going against her Christian beliefs with her
new stance. This all comes following the Supreme Court debate on Prop 8,
which prevents same sex couples to the right to marry legally in the
state of California.
Her hubby Jay-Z spoke out about the issue last spring, saying "I've always thought it as something that was still holding the country back. What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That's their business. It's no different than discriminati ng against blacks. It's discriminati on, plain and simple." The Carters have spoken.
