4 Expectations to Drop When You Move in With Mr. Right

Some women dream about the day when moving boxes are littered across the floor in the new house she will share with her man. But if you think cohabitation with your lover will be filled with nonstop passion and peace it’s time to get real. You’re not only merging personal items but you’re merging lives. Here are four expectations you must get rid of when you and your man live under the same roof.

1. Endless Romance

If you expect to find a trail of rose petals leading to the bedroom every night, you are in for a rude awakening. Expect to walk into the apartment and see your man lazing on the couch playing NBA 2k13 after a long workday. Don’t count out romantic gestures completely, but your new found living arrangement doesn’t guarantee an endless parade of romance.

2. Mr. Fix-It

When the new entertainment system arrives and you discover your man struggling to assemble it, don’t fret. Not every man is handy with all tools. Your boo may prefer rocking a Gucci belt as opposed to a tool belt. Not having a Mr. Fix It around will take some adjustments—especially if you grew up with a handy father. Instead of stewing in disappointment, focus on your lovers good qualities.

 3. No Arguments About Money

Even if you aren’t married when you initially live with your partner, money is a topic that’s always open for discussion. If your purchasing habits are different, disagreements will arise. Chances are you won’t be able to shop in peace without encountering flack about your spending behaviors.

Because you love birds are now sharing the same space, abandon the idea of consistent peace and quiet. Expect his family and his boys to stop by even when you’re in desperate need of solitude. The best you can hope for is a considerate partner who keeps the noise down when you relax.
