The French duo Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, better known as Daft Punk, have had a crazy year with the release of their fourth studio album Random Access Memories and one of the biggest tracks of the year ‘Get Lucky’. So it’s no wonder they were named The Wall Street Journal Magazine’s Innovator of the Year.
The mysterious pair were shot by photographer to the stars Terry Richardson with supermodel Gisele Bundchen for their WSJ. Magazine feature rocking their signature helmets. When creating the biggest album of their twenty year career, Random Access Memories, they set out to create music that was timeless, similar to the mammoth records of the 1970/80s that still live on today. Their creative process had no limits in regards to budget and deadlines and despite this album straying from their trademark sound, the risk definitely paid off. Hits like ‘Get Lucky’, with its endless remixes are definitely not going anywhere anytime soon.
