The Los Angeles County Coroner has released new details surrounding actor Paul Walker's death after he and his business partner Roger Rodas, 38, lost their lives after leaving a charity event in a fiery car crash Nov. 30.
According to |NMZ, the autopsy report states that Walker was killed from "combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries." Neither Walker nor Rodas had any drugs or alcohol in their system at the time of the accident. It was also revealed that the Porsche Carrera GT the men were driving in was going at over 100 mph and that it nearly split in half, ultimately bursting into flames.
It was ruled "an accident" by Deputy Medical Examiner Lawrence Nguyen. Walker was found "charred and in a pugilistic stance," appearing to be bracing for the impact. The gruesome details of their injuries involved Walker suffering a fractured left mandible and left clavicle, multiple rib and pelvic fractures, and a non-displaced spinal fracture. Rodas' skull was fractured, exposing his brain. Both men reportedly died almost instantly.
The Fast and Furious star was in the middle of shooting for Fast & Furious 7. Sources tell THR that his character, Brian O'Conner, will retire in the next installment.
Walker's co-star Vin Diesel recently took to his Facebook, reflecting on the year past with the late actor."There was always moments of child-like laughter...," he wrote. "We had accomplished so much by 2013...P.s. The complexities of Brotherhood, and the painful void... of it's absence,"
