Small Plane Crash Lands On Bronx Expressway, No One Dies

If you are traveling northbound on the Major Deegan Expressway tonight, take another route.
This afternoon a small plane crash landed on the busy expressway that connects Bronx, N.Y. and Westchester County. Not only were the people on the plane not seriously hurt, but moving cars on the Bronx highway managed to avoid the aircraft and there were no injuries on the ground either.
The plane went down around 3:20PM EST after experiencing engine problems. There were three people aboard the 1966 Piper PA-28-180 aircraft. Two men and one woman were taken to nearby St. Barnabas Hospital and were eventually discharged.
The New York City Fire Department eventually arrived on the scene and removed all the fuel from the plane.
Being a defensive driver these days might mean looking up from time to time.
