When the Billboard Awards announced a “world premiere experience” featuring Michael Jackson at this year’s show, the computerization of the King of Pop was the first thing to come to mind. Now, through a failed attempt at a lawsuit, it has been confirmed that a hologram version of MJ will perform “Slave To The Rhythm,” from his album Xscape, this Sunday (May 18).
Hologram USA - the company that owns the rights to the Coachella 2012 Tupac hologram - along with Musion Das Hologram Ltd., filed a lawsuit against the Jackson estate on Thursday (May 15), claiming that their patented product was being used to create Jackson’s hologram. The motion was dismissed after a judge ruled that there was not enough evidence to support the accusation.
Though it is now known how Jackson will return to the stage, further details of the upcoming performance remain under tight wraps. Tune into the 2014 Billboard Awards tomorrow night at 8 p.m. to witness it all go down.
